Antoine Snelgro is the founder of Saving Our Babies Entertainment. After serving in Iraq, Antoine Snelgro returned to the United States in 2005 and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Instead of letting adversity get in the way, Snelgro decided to take his passion for music and film and turn it into an entertainment organization that aimed to share a positive message.
As a result, Snelgro created Saving Our Babies Entertainment Inc., an entertainment company that set out to show youth that they could create entertainment without sacrificing one’s integrity. Saving Our Babies set itself apart by focusing on real talent, rather than looking for ‘the next big thing’.
Himself a father of 3 children, Snelgro created Saving Our Babies Entertainment with the goal of creating and maintaining a strong unity within the family structure-especially within the black family.
To build a sound production backbone for Saving Our Babies Entertainment, Snelgro headed to Pasadena and started taking radio, television, and film classes at Pasadena City College. While at PCC, Snelgro produced and hosted his own show on PCC’s Lancer Radio, called the Saving Our Babies Eclectic Music Hour.
During this time, Saving Our Babies also gained notoriety after Snelgro received good feedback on a mixed tape he had released. Snelgro’s music stood out because it was focused on featuring good music that was free of the restrictions the record labels often imposed on radio shows.
Six years after its creation, 2012 will be a busy year for Saving Our Babies Entertainment. Snelgro is set to release a film that will profile the struggles fathers go through when they are not in a communicative relationship with the mother of their children.
The film, titled Conversations With A Baby Daddy…Breaking the Chain of Pain, documents real men in real situations, as they discuss what it mean to be a father in today’s society. The film provides a fresh look into the father’s point-of-view, and aims to show that a real ‘baby daddy’ cares for and would do anything for his children, despite what stereotypes would have us otherwise believe.
